Adding Custom Vehicle Mods
Custom vehicle mods let you and your players drive cars beyond what ships with BeamNG.Drive. Once uploaded, vehicle mods sync to every connecting player automatically.
The fastest method - contains every vehicle mod published on the official BeamNG.Drive forums.
- In your Vyper Hosting panel, click Mods.
- Set the dropdown to Client and search for the vehicle by name.
- Click Install.
- Restart your server.
For vehicles not in the Mod Installer.
- Download the vehicle mod as a
.zipfrom a trusted source such as the BeamNG.Drive repository. - In your panel, go to Files → Resources → Client.
- Upload the ZIP file.
- Restart the server.
Verifying ZIP Structure
Section titled “Verifying ZIP Structure”Vehicle mod ZIPs must have a vehicles/ folder at the root:
Directoryvehiclemod.zip
Directoryvehicles/
Directoryvehiclename/
- vehiclename.jbeam
If there’s an extra wrapper folder (mymod/vehicles/...), the mod won’t load correctly. Use 7-Zip to inspect the structure before uploading. Mods from the BeamNG.Drive repository and Mod Installer are always correct.
Managing Multiple Vehicles
Section titled “Managing Multiple Vehicles”- Remove mods you’re not actively using - every mod downloads to every joining player.
- Conflicting mods (two mods modifying the same base vehicle) can cause crashes.
- For large mod packs, test a few mods at a time to catch conflicts early.
See Performance Optimization for guidance.
Combining Vehicles with a Custom Map
Section titled “Combining Vehicles with a Custom Map”Upload both the vehicle ZIPs and the map ZIP to Resources/Client/, then set the map path in the Startup tab. See Changing Your Map.
