Installing the BeamMP Client

BeamMP is a free multiplayer mod for BeamNG.Drive. Every player who wants to join a BeamMP server needs the BeamMP launcher installed. This guide walks through the full process.

  • BeamNG.Drive installed via Steam (version 0.26 or later)
  • Windows 10 or 11 (Linux unofficially supported)
  • An active internet connection
  1. Download the launcher

Go to beammp.com and click Download to get BeamMP-Launcher.exe.

  2. Run the installer

Open BeamMP-Launcher.exe. If Windows Defender warns you, click More info → Run anyway - this is normal for software that isn’t widely distributed.

Follow the installer steps and choose your install location. It will auto-detect your BeamNG.Drive installation. If it can’t find it, navigate to your Steam library folder.

  3. Launch BeamNG.Drive via BeamMP

After installation, a BeamMP Launcher shortcut appears on your desktop. Always use this shortcut and not the Steam shortcut - when you want to play multiplayer.

On first launch, the launcher adds a Multiplayer button to the main menu.

  4. Connect to a server

Click Multiplayer from the main menu, then browse the server list or use Direct Connect. Mods and maps required by the server download automatically - no manual install needed.

A more in depth guide on connecting can be found below:

The launcher updates automatically when you open it. After a major BeamNG.Drive update, open the BeamMP launcher once to let it re-patch the game before trying to connect.
